Mother, Farrell Douglass is an internationally recognized artist who has been painting and creating inspiring original artwork for decades. Farrell uses various techniques, mediums, and styles to create a unique and personalized work of art for your home, favorite space, or commercial property.
From an early age, Farrell Douglass knew that her true passion in life would be art. She grew up drawing, painting and studying, eventually earning a BA in Visual Design from Auburn University and an honorary degree from The Universite per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy.
After a stint in the corporate insurance world, she returned to her love of art in the 1990’s developing her talent as a watercolorist. She participated in many shows, art leagues and won numerous awards.
Farrell works mainly in liquid acrylics adding various acrylic mediums for texture. She always has a spray bottle of water close by to add to the fluidity. “I love how the paint, water and textural elements combine to create interesting patterns and colors…almost with a life of its’ own.” Her subject matter ranges from landscapes to figurative work to contemporary abstracts. “I like to think that my art is a reflection of my love of color, shape and texture combined with the sense of the world around me. I feel so fortunate to be able to do what I love and make a living at it too.”
In 2003, she turned her passion for art into a professional career creating original art for the design trade. In addition to working with Douglass Designs, Farrell also works as an independent contractor and her work is sold worldwide. Her unique pieces can also be seen on various TV productions such as The Good Wife, Law and Order, Sons of Anarchy and Scandal. Purchasers of her art include the owner of the New England Patriots Robert Kraft, Nascar driver Rusty Wallace, and reality television celebrity Khloe Kardashian.
Farrell is a resident of Prescott Arizona, where her studio looks out on the National Forest. In addition to her art, she has a true love of the environment, her animals and most of all, her family with the new addition of her grandson, Ben.
